Jamie Rowen-Winter Period 3 12-13-04
“Hey, Wind? Can you help me?” “Ya, Strote? What’s up?” replied Wind glancing back at Strote, smiling. “I need help. I am not sure what the difference is between Matthew Bishop and Chaym Smith.” “Well… For starters they both come from different worlds and therefore they have several different philosophies. Chaym come from a harsh and cruel and unequal world. While Matthew come from a harsh but caring world were everyone was equal. That would create two very different people. Chaym thinks that not all people are equal and he used to think he that all he would be good for was the be a ‘copy’ of Dr. King, because he said, “‘When you go somewhere or leave somewhere, I could be there too, and if someone’s is tryin’ to hurt you, they won’t know whiceaway to turn. That’s all I’m askin’, that you let me do somethin’ –maybe the only thing in this world- I can do.’”[page 40] That was when he first showed up. Matthew didn’t think much of himself either but he was slitely different, in that he thought that he was inviable, thought no one remembered him. For example, a quit from the book-“’Most never remember my name. I had no outstanding features, no “best said,” as they say, to hold in profile. During SCLC meetings, a demonstration, rally, or march, I blended easily into the background, as bland and undistinguished as a piece of furniture, so anomymous most people forget I was there.’” He wasn’t every loud and he was a very good Christian man.” Wind paused to catch his breath. “Ohh… I think I get it now.” Strote nodded happily. “Wait I’m not done. Smith and Bishop were different in other was as well…” “Do tell then. Do tell,” said Strote, anxious to hear more. “Okay, so Chaym and Matthew both went to school and I think they both dropped out. Chaym dropped out of school so that he could supported his new wife that he didn’t really want to marry but it was what he thought she wanted, later after that they starter having fights that had lasted the whole night. So he started staying out and driving around at nights to avoid the fights. One night he couldn’t find his way home and he didn’t know where the hell he was, so he went to the police. They questioned him and soon after that his family was found dead in the house that they had. Matthew had never been married and I’m not sure why he dropped out of school. And he had never been in the military, which Chaym had. After being in the military, Chaym heard about a Buddhist temple in Japan that took in foreigners and went to stay there. He studied there for a year, then was kicked out, and Matthew hadn’t had anything to do outside the Christian religion. Matthew was very good physically and spiriturely, he hadn’t done much in the book to hurt people but one time he blow up at a white waitress that wanted to make things clear that she wasn’t going to touch him. He just snapped at her, there was food all over the place and he was filled with hot hatred. Chaym was very happy with this, as read –“’Smith kept grinning at me, happily patting out rhythms on the steering wheele with his palms. “You all right.” He reached over and patted my shoulder.’” [page 74] Chaym is more experienced at handling rough situctations than Matthew because has gone through more and Matthew was just acting out of rage when he yelled-” “Okay well, I think I get it mostly now-“ “ I wish you would stop doing that…” Wind said like he just got a taste of rotten milk in his mouth. “Do what?” Strote teased. “Cut me off. I’m not done. You told me to help you and so I’m going to help you.” Wind said sternly. “Now what else do you need to know?” Strote stuck his tongue out, “That’s just it. I don’t think I need to know anymore.” “Okay then, can you repeat all that I said? Sum it up I mean.” Said Wind, half glaring, half smiling. “Umm… Let me think for a moment… Chaym and Matthew both come from different worlds and they both dropped out of school. Chaym got married, that was the reason why he dropped out. You don’t know the reason why Matthew dropped out. Chaym’s family was killed, but they don’t know why or who did it. Chaym and Matthew both thought low of themselves in the beginning of the book. Chaym became a ‘copy’ of Dr. King. Matthew was a very good Christian man and hadn’t had much to do with out of the Christian religion. Chaym went to war and he was in Japan for a year studing at a Buddhist temple. Chaym is also more experienced when it comes to despite times. Matthew yelled out of rage at a waitress and Chaym was very happy about that.” Strote stopped. “Very good, and now I must be off.” Wind said exchanging good-byes. |

called in sick today. Just too panicked over the trip to CA and junk to go in and tell people I'd be happy to over the bills they haven't read, or explain that they're reall not being over billed.
Will try to get some writing done.

Life's good here.
I'm very happy with Emerald Tears. I can't wait till my days off, and pay day, so I can do some promotion.
I want to finish the BSG commision.
And I really want to put together a magazine. I'm dying for some really good stuff to read.
There just doesn't seem to be anything worth reading. I know there have to be more good writers in the world than Eido and Janette.

*cheers*
Oh and my new supervisor is highly decent too!
"The Theater of Emerald Tears is a beautifully written story of unexpected love and finding your inner strength--almost like a fairy tale about what can happen when you allow yourself to chase your dreams, regardless of the cost. The setting, characters and descriptions are all eloquently captured by Nix's unique and elegant writing style, reminiscent of film noir. As someone who has been following the evolution of this fine work for quite some time now, I would highly reccommend The Theater of Emerald Tears to anyone who's looking for some touching romance, an unlikely hero and all-around excellent writing."

*Cheers* I think I'll do much less posting on sites like writing.com and fictionpress in the future. I really like releasing books.
Anyway, if you've read it already, leave me a review if you liked it, please?
Thank you very much!

Good morning! Am feeling better this morning. Nothing like a couple gallons of water and some badly done yoga poses to help lots.
Am working on the redo of Emerald Tears... any volunteers to give feed back would be adored beyond words.
Any knights lurking in forests with red headed bards are welcome to reply any time too. *grins*
